Has anyone gotten 100% on this project? I can only get 97.5%. I get 2.5 points taken off for Step 14

Tulips is from Exploring Word chapter 3. None of my students have ever gotten better that 97.5%. It is tough. I see I was able to get 100% in my student account but I think I cheated by uploading the completed file from the Resources folder. Wink

This semester I switched to the alternate project (contracts). It is much more manageable although still quite difficult.

Hi there -

We have alerted our media team to review this project. Michael gives a great solution – thanks! I also wanted to alert everyone to the process of changing point values for individual steps on a grader project. In this way you can give the step in question 0 points, and then icrease the other steps if you desire.

The instructions for changing point values can be found here: http://www.myitlabcommunity.co…..in-grader/

Thanks for reminding us about changing point values in grader projects, Jess.  I have definitely used that option for tasks that cause issues for students.  Another way to help is to include "Hints" for those steps that cause students problems.

One wish I have is to allow a global setting for "Hints" — or maybe a "Select All" within Manage Variations.

Thanks.

The MyITLab Team has looked at this project in detail and have submitted a change with the developers to adjust the grading for Step 14, which is where most people lose the 2.5 points.

The sticking point seems to be that the user needs to select the word "store", open the Mark Index Entry dialog box, then click Mark All. It is at this point that they need to enter the cross reference "storage" and click Mark. However, we realize this is confusing, and needs to be corrected.

We have added this explanation to the release notes, which are available in the Office 2010 product library. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Since I see you were a Freshman Running Back for the University and not a Faculty member I would suggest contacting your Professor.

All I will say is to look at all of the reports from the View Submission: Summary, Marked-up, and Live Comments. No faculty member on the Community is going to send a student their completed Grader Project.

College_Guy,

I wanted to refer you to our 24/7 support for MyITLab which is the ideal location to take your question from this point on. It has been so great for John to offer up some advice that I hope has been helpful, but you'll find more student-centric support here: http://myitlab.com/Student_Support

Discussions on this community are really more for faculty to collaborate and share their own experiences with each other rather than to assist students which is why we offer student support 24/7 at the link above.

Feel free to message me directly with any more questions.

Lesly
